This Month's Topic: " Driveway Pressure Cleaning"
( For the Die-Hard Do it Your-Selfer)
Does Your Driveway Look Like This? Get it Looking like this!
Step#1 Equipment
There are many brands of pressure washers in the market today. If your driveway has mold and Algae issues like the picture above you are going to need at least 2 Things, a Minimum of 3,000 PSI 6-8 HP Engine pressure washer. Also reccomend a Turbo Nozzle for heavy Mold or if your budget permits a Floor Machine Pressure washer.
But with a good 3000 psi machine and a White Pressure tip (40-Degree ) and Green Tip
(15- degree) The green for up close heavy build up of Mold especially along the edges.
The white one allows for a thorough rinse down of the cleaned surface area.
Step#2- Solvents/Chemicals
Well, We live in the great Sunshine State of Florida, unfortunately its also a Heavy Mold
Growth area. We even track the mold into our homes by stepping on a molded sidewalk or driveway and then walking on your floors at home the Mold dries and can be breathed in from the carpet fibers or carried with dust in the Air.
You will need for average 2 car driveway about 3-4 Gallons of Pool Grade Chlorine and preferably spray on the surfaces affected in a sweeping motion Note: Please be sure to avoid breathing in chlorine vapors. Spray on till surface is wet. Let it sit for about 15-20 Minutes.
Step#3-Rinse Down
With your pressure washer and a White 40-Degree Tip Rinse down all of the concrete areas
and leaving some solution on the surface so it would embed itself in the concrete and prevent mold from adhering back into the cement
